ADC EXAM PREP SYLLABUS:

Course Description- The purpose of this course is to provide counselors-in-training highlighted information assisting them with passing either the ADC or AADC exams. This is not designed tosubstitute for learning the basic counseling skills or long hours of study time. This course is a 6-hour refresher of the 12 core functions in addition to other treatment knowledge. This course will assist a counselor in understanding their Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) as a drug/alcohol counselor. Participants in this course will be expected to engage in all group activities as a teaching method. Furthermore, participants in this course can expect non-customary teaching practices such as many group participation activities, hands on learning, and auditory listening techniques.
Prerequisites: Must be a counselor in training or a person who works in the behavioral health/addiction field.
