Summer Prado is the assistant clinical director for Life Forward Counseling. Her academic degrees include a  Master’s in Counseling, Master’s in Management/Leadership, and Bachelor’s in Psychology. She is an international certified alcohol/drug counselor and clinical supervisor, distance clinical supervisor, certified tobacco treatment specialist, and a DOT qualified substance abuse professional. She has 18 years’ experience in substance use disorder counseling. She enjoys working with both adolescent and adults. She has experience working in the criminal justice system, school-based care, residential, community outreach, and outpatient services. Her counseling styles are psycho-educational, motivational interviewing, REBT, and expressive therapy. She has experience presenting trainings regarding alcohol/drug counselor certifications, tobacco cessation, and self-care strategies.  She is also on the board of the Arkansas Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. Summer maintains a balance between work, family, self, and helping others by practicing mindfulness and self-care while taking a holistic approach to life.
